Baby sleeps on top of comforter?
We were visiting friends, and I had to put my 5 month old down for a nap in their baby's crib. They have the comforter on top of the mattress, and said they put their 4 month old to sleep on top of it. What would be the logic behind this? and is it not risky if they were to roll onto their belly and bury their face in the blanket??? My son can roll over both ways on his own, but sometimes when he falls asleep on his belly, his face is buried right in the bed, so I roll him over...

Where can I buy baby crib quilts/comforters separate from a set?
I'm looking to buy JUST a quilt or comforter for a crib without buying a set. I'm finding there's not much out there. Any suggestions?

My husband and I purchased a baby crib, a dresser, a comforter set, and a mattress from Babies R Us recently.?
The baby crib and dresser are scheduled to be delivered to us in 7 14 days. The comforter set and mattress we went ahead and purchased in the store. The total price was paid all while we were in the store. The cashier however separately taxed the crib and dresser, took this amount and added it to the comforter set and mattress, and then taxed this total amount again to get a total price. In other words, we were taxed twice on this one purchase. Is the fact that the crib and dresser are scheduled to be delivered at a later date have something to do with this, or did the cashier just plain f'ed up? Just thought I'd get some input on this before I confront the store tomorrow on this.

3 years old, suddenly attaching to a comforter?
Hi all, My 3 year old daughter has never needed a comforter she did have a dummy pacifier but that's long gone and she had no problems without it. She has suddenly attached herself to a 'Bedtime bear' and won't go anywhere without it. We had another baby 5 months ago, but she has adjusted well and 5 months should be enough time to come to terms? She has a friend who has the same bear and takes it as her comforter, is she just copying? If so, I don't see why she takes it even when she's not seeing her friend. I'm a little confused.Should I let her have it or discourage it?lol, suggested category Home & Garden > Decorating & Remodeling

When you transferred your baby to a Toddler Bed - did you give them a comforter to sleep with?

What age should i give a baby a comforter?
my little girl is 9 weeks old, im wondering if i should give her a comforter. she has a dummy pacifier, but has started spitting it out in favour of sucking her blankets instead. she can not grip very well, would it be worth giving her the comforter now?ok, maybe should have been a little more specific as most of you are telling me to dress her warm, lol, im from yorkshire in england, so a comforter here is like one of those little toy things that have a piece of soft material on them for them to cuddle and touch, and i would only allow her t have it whilst she is awake and sat in a room with me. would she be ok to have one of those?sorry for the confusion

Can I bleach my down comforter?
The tag on it says not to bleach, but I don't see why not. It's all white. It's a little dingy looking. I'm not concerned about bleach affecting it's appearance really, since I have covers from ikea for it in case it yellows or spots it. I'm kind of new to the whole bleaching thing I tried it a few months ago and I've become obsessed with the smell and whiteness of my clean bleached clothing. Just wondering if anyone has ever bleached their down comforter, what were the results? Or if I really shouldn't......thanks By the way......I purposely posted this under Parenting.....I figured there's probably a lot of knowledgeable moms on here who can help me with my laundry problems haha

Is it safe to use lamb wool comforters for newborns?
I've heard lamb wool comforters are too heavy for newborns and can lead to baby suffocation. Also I've heard babies shouldn't be using pillows for a while. However, my mother in law insists i use them. I would like to prove her wrong. Any opinions?

Ideas of what to do with crib comforter?
The comforter is just one of those things that you don't really use right away, if at all. At least that is how I felt with my son because it is just too heavy and you can't tuck them in, now that he is 3 I use it during the winter time a little. Right now we are preparing for our second baby and I am trying to think of ideas to use the comforter for because I think it is really cute. I though I could hang it on the wall but I don't really want to put pins through it to hang it. Any ideas? What did you use yours for?
