What are the best gifts for a newborn ?
My friend baby shower is next week Saturday and I would like to get some things for the baby,but I don't know what to get. Please help me by recommending some unique gifts for a newborn. Thanks

What are good gifts for a new mother and her baby (boy)?
My friend is having a baby boy, it is her first baby and she doesn't have a lot of money. I wanted to make her a new baby box basket with things she would need but also some fun things as well, for both her and her baby. She is inundated with certain items of clothing, so as well as a few bits of clothing I want to buy some other stuff. What would you have loved people to have got you when you had your first baby? I want to get useful things, not silly things that she or her baby will never need.

Do you get your children gifts for Valentine's Day?
I have always viewed Valentine's Day as more of a holiday for lovers and couples but almost everyone I talk to mentions getting their children gifts for Valentine's day. I think when my kids were little I might have given them a few little stuffed animals or something on Valentine's Day I can't even remember to be honest but it just seems pointless to me to buy them junk like chocolates or stuffed animals that will lay around and those are the main things associated with Valentine's day, a card for each just seems like a waste of money and I'm not going to buy expensive toys and such that aren't even related to Valentine's day.If you do Valentine's Day gifts for your kids, what do you give? I have 4 teenage boys who wouldn't really care about mooshy love gifts from mom. My husband and I don't even exchange gifts on Valentine's Day, we might get each other a card but that's about it.

Any gift dont know if its a boy or girl. Its her second child the other one is 2 we have known each other since we were very little like age 3. Shes 20. So a young mom... the first child i just gave lots of clothes in all different sizes cause i knew she wa sgonna get lots of newborn clothes....i got her ababy bath and a duck that shows if its too hot the mom loves rubber ducks... but i dont know what to give this time... i think she has been too busy with college work and the other child to make any sort of baby registry... any unique ideas. Im creative I deff can make or put something together im just running low on ideas... so any creative unique ideas? Thanks

Is this acceptable as a baby shower gift?
A girl I work with got garage sale clothes from her mother in law at her baby shower. They weren't washed & still had the little stickers on them. She gave these to her as her gift & that was all. Is this acceptable?I think it's okay to buy garage sale clothes, but not to give them as a baby shower gift.

How do I know if my 11-month-old son is gifted?
At 4 months, I showed him how to play a spinning toy. He learned how to play right away although he got frustrated and upset when he couldn't hit the target his mind wanted but his body couldn't cope with.At 9 months, he knew how to open a bottle and turn on faucet by observing us. We never taught him that.At 10 months, we took him to Dave & Buster. He saw me sweep card to start a machine and he grabbed the card and tried to sweep it too at the card reader . At 10 months, I showed him how to stack blocks. I only showed him twice and he can stack 2 blocks the next day. Within 1 week he can stack 3. If I stack 2, he then put the 3 on top. If I stack 5, he then put the 6 on top. I suspect he can do more than 3 but he lost the interests in blocks very soon.At 10 months, I bought a Melissa & Doug Shape Sequence Sorting Set which is intended for older kids recommend for 3 or older . One time he was trying to get the toys he threw under the bassinet. He made sounds indicating that he wanted me to get them for him. Because I was tired of he threw I pick up game so I encourage him to get them himself. He tried couple times to reach under the bassinet but his head was stopped by the bassinet base. At first he tried backward position that his feet enter under first. But he soon learned that his head still stuck there. After few attempts, he quickly learned to lower his head so he won't get stuck by his head. I saw him slowly lower his head while looking at the wooden beam of bassinet base to measure if he'd hit the base to pass through. After he got his toys, I thought he might stuck again and ask for help. But to my surprise, once he almost reach the beam, he soon lowered his head to pass through. I don't know if this is common for a 11 month old?My IQ test scored over 150 when I was 12. I guess that's why I thought he's different. I guess you guys are right. It's still too early to tell. Just curious, do any of your kids showed reasoning skills at early age? I thought the way he figured out how to get in out of the bassinet base is pretty impressive?PS The blocks I bought for him are very big. It's almost the same size as the alphabet blocks I bought for him which is for 10 month old. I think the reason they recommend for 3 and up is because it's too difficult for under 3 not because of choking hazard. My son is a very needy baby. From the time he opens his eyes till he sleeps, he needs someone besides him. We couldn't leave him alone in play yard for even 1 minute because he'd cry. So whatever toys we gave him, we always guard him while he's playing.

Does anyone have any baby gift ideas?
So a friend of mine is expecting her 11th child. The gender is unknown, she does extended breast feeding, and she uses cloth diapers and wipes. The only thing they are in need of is a carseat, but they are waiting until he she is born to pick out the color. Does ANYBODY have any idea as to what would be a good baby gift, since diapers, wipes and bottles are a no go? Muneeb My friend has been married for 15 years. My sister is expecting her second child and on her first pregnacy i just bought a gift , i think some baby clothes ,well this time i was thinking of making a keepsake is that whats it called ? my mind has gone a blank lol box to put all special things in ..i already have a box that i got with a perfume gift set so its a strong one and i was thinking i could cover in in nice girly fabric and lace around the edges ,and stick on 3D flowers hello kittys lovehearts resin beads abit like kawaii then in the middle the babies name ...im going to make it really girly as my sister is like that and LOVES all things pink i will get her another gift as well but do you think this will be a nice idea ?

Gift to MAKE grandparents from baby?
My son is 10 months old and has a TON of grandparents talking 4 grandmas and 3 grandpas < 3 I want to make a gift to give to each of them from him... an arts and crafts present that is. Is this gift too expensive or too cheap?
I usually spend about 60$ for my best friend's gifts and she really isn't one of those. She is having a sleepover for her 15th birthday with about 20 people I probably won't be going becuase we aren't very close. her gift is 56$ so I'm not sure if I should take out the 20$ necklace or not becuase we aren't very close and she has never bought me anything.
