Allergies in infants?

SAHM's do you watch TV while your infant in the room?
My husband thinks it is really damaging, but how bad could it be. As long as you are not watching gross inappropriate shows, I'm talking about News, Talk shows, things like that. What do you think ?I should add my son is 3 months old, and when he is awake I am playing with him, or doing tummy time. So for sure, I am not just ignoring him or anything. But I have always been one of those ppl that just likes the sound of the tv in the background. Sometime he just wants to sit and look around without mommy trying to play with him, and he will glance at the tv, I wonder if he likes the colors and faces?

Advise for flying with an infant?
I will be flying with just my daughter who will be 7 months when we goin May. I was planning on just using the carrier for her in the airport but now I'm second guessing myself and thinking an umbrella stroller would be better. So for the parents who have flown with babies did you use a carrier or stroller? And if you use a stroller do they charge you for it, or will they check it for free at the gate? And another stupid question the bathrooms on the plane are so small and I don't recall ever seeing changing stations in there, where and how do you change a diaper? Our flight is 3 hours long, and my luck she will have a really gross diaper 1 hr in. Any other tips and advise is greatly appreciated

Arsenic in infant formula?
I just read an interesting article on arsenic, that can be 'hidden' in Organic Brown Rice Syrup. Here is the article healthland.time.com 2012 02 16 oh baby why there may be arsenic in your infant formula ?xid rss topstoriesOh, Baby There May Be Arsenic in Your FormulaA new study suggests that organic brown rice syrup a sweetener used in many organic and gluten free foods, including baby formula may be a hidden source of arsenic.By Bryan WalshNo surprise here arsenic is not good for you. In high doses, of course, it s a deadly poison, but even at lower levels exposure to arsenic can raise the risks of cancer and heart disease. It s especially dangerous for young children in whom chronic arsenic exposure has been linked to lower IQ and poor intellectual function. And because arsenic can occur naturally in groundwater where it can poison people via drinking water or through food grown in arsenic contaminated soil it can be difficult to avoid. That s why a new study in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives indicating that organic brown rice syrup a sweetener used in many organic and gluten free foods, including baby formula can be a source of arsenic is so worrying. Researchers from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School looked at foods that use organic brown rice syrup and found evidence that some baby formulas, cereal bars and energy shots all contained levels of arsenic that were significantly higher than the 10 parts per billion federal limit for drinking or bottled water.Worst of all, despite the results, there are currently no U.S. regulatory limits for arsenic in food which means there s little to prevent consumers, and especially children, from being dosed with potentially harmful levels of the chemical. In the absence of of regulations for levels of arsenic in food, I would certainly advise parents who are concerned about their children s exposure to arsenic not to feed them formula where brown rice syrup is the main ingredient, Brian Jackson, the lead author of the study, told Consumer Reports.Has anyone read this article? There that's my question.

I know "on-demand" feeding is recommended for infants, but my 4 week old seems to be eating a LOT!?
He has always eaten more than I remember his younger brother eating. I know, I know, every baby is different. But, seriously...yesterday he had 9 oz in the course of 2 3 hours. That seems like too much to me We burp him after each ounce, he doesn't show any typical signs of being full turning his head away, spitting out the bottle nipple, showing discomfort . Typically after a feeding period he will then sleep about 3 hours. I don't want to overfeed him. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks He weighed 8lb 14 oz at birth. But I have read that bigger babies don't necessarily need more than other babies.

Will an Infant remember?
Will a 12 week old infant remember a traumatic event? The event was violent and resulted in the child sustaining a laceration to the head, no brain trauma just a few stitches. The child is now 13 months.
