Who do mothers sing nursery rhymes to their babies?
I have an aunt who listens to heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath. Instead of singing a song like War Pigs to her twin daughters who were recently born , she sings nursery rhymes. I don't get it lol. Do people do that because it's the norm? Sure Heavy Metal may be violent at times but why not Blues or Classic Rock?

What is with all our nursery rhymes?
Like they all have these morbid & stuff. Ring around the rosie is supposed to be about the Bubonic Plague & how they used to cremate the bodies & stuff. Then there's Jack & Jill which I've heard is supposed to about people having an affair. Plus, IDK if this is what it's really about but read " The Cat & The Fiddle" & see what you think. 'Hey diddle diddle, the cat & the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon, the little dog laughed at all the fun & the dish had it's way with the spoon.' There's also the alternative version. 'Hey diddle diddle, the cat & the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon, the little dog laughed to see such sport & the dish ran away with the spoon'. Either way, now that I'm older it sounds a little different to me than when I was a kid, but maybe that has something to do with how everyone is always telling me to get my head out of the gutter, lol. What do you think?

Is there any poems or nursery rhymes that I can read to a child after a bad dream?
I'm looking for some poetry or nursery rhymes to read to a child after they have had a bad dream. My friends daughter has been seeing a little girl in her room recently and every since admitting to seeing her very very often she has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming so horribly that she gives herself migraines n fevers. After about a few hours of soothing her back to calm she refuses to sleep in her own bed. So were looking for something to sing say or read to her that could make her feel ok again.. Is there any cute poetry or songs or rhymes that maybe my friend and her daughter can say together that could make her feel as if" it helped warded off the boogie man bad dreams" ? Please help my friends at her wits end.

What is a good nursery rhymes DVD for my 2 year old?
My little girl loves nursery rhymes, especially Twinkle Twinkle, Insey Winsey Spider and Old McDonald's Farm. I want to get her a DVD with these and other traditional songs, preferably animated rather than just people singing the Wiggles are great but she would love to see animals and characters etc as well . Can anyone suggest a good DVD for us? Thanks

Trying to come up with a song/nursery rhyme for my nephew? Any ideas?
Okay so out of my siblings, I was the first to have a baby. Now my sister is expecting her first baby, its a boy. My daughters name is Adylee Roselynn and my mom and I made up her own song that we both sing to her ALL the time. She loves it. Id like to make this a tradition.. My mom and I are trying to make a song for Jaxon Scott my nephew who hasnt been born yet. I know a lot of people are going to think this is cheesey but we think its sweet. Adylees song goes like this " Theres an angel in the house and her name is Adylee, shes absolutly perfect and precious as can be. Shes beautiful like her mom, yes this is true. Except her eyes are brown and yours are sparkily blue...." Theres more but you get the idea haha. So far for Jaxon we have " Theres another angel in our lives and his name is Jaxon Scott.." I cant come up with anything else.... Haha any ideas? Dont make fun of this please.

I want to sing this to my baby girl, because i used to sing it when i was little but cant remember all the lyrics...the only thing i can remember is Oh i see the moon and the moon sees methe moon sees somebody i want to seeoh god bless the moon and God bless meand God bless that somebody I want to see...and i have looked you youtube and that is all i found also, but i remember it being longer and having lyrics in it somewhere that saidit seems to me that the lord above picked you out from all the rest, because dear he knew that i loved you the best.....and i know that's not completely right, but it was something to that effect and i just cant remember if anyone knows that would be a great help thank you
